Record a Tractor GPS session and set an AB line

Set working width, record coverage, and review a saved field track.

Tractor GPS · Updated

  1. Prepare a session

Open Tractor GPS, enter a Session name, Activity, and Mower / implement width in feet. Choose AB Straight for parallel rows or Free Track to record a route without row guidance.

  2. Enable precise GPS

Choose Enable Precise GPS and allow location for FieldForge. Move outdoors with a clear view of the sky and wait for a position fix. Review the reported GPS uncertainty before starting.

  3. Start and establish the row

Choose Start Tracking. In AB Straight mode, set Point A, travel at least 10 feet in a straight line, then set Point B. The yellow AB line sets the direction and parallel rows follow your implement width.

  4. Pause, finish, and review

Use Pause Tracking when you want to stop collecting points, and Resume Tracking to continue. Choose Finish & Save to complete the session, then View under Saved GPS tracks. Export GeoJSON downloads the recorded route.

Before you rely on the result

Tractor GPS requires feature access, normally Pro or Business. Coverage is estimated from traveled distance × working width; turns and repeat passes can overcount, and overlap is not subtracted.

The display provides visual guidance only. It does not steer the tractor or detect obstacles. Phone GPS uncertainty depends on the device and conditions; it does not promise inch-level or RTK accuracy. Stop before changing controls.
