Place assets accurately and load satellite imagery

Review known coordinates, map layers, pins, and boundaries.

Farm maps · Updated

  1. Select the satellite layer

In Farm Map, choose Satellite map and set Map layer to Satellite. Fit locations centers the assets that have saved GPS geometry.

  2. Review the saved location

Select an asset’s GPS edit control. For a point, enter known latitude and longitude or choose its location on the map. For a boundary, review the corner points before saving.

  3. Use your device position carefully

Use my location centers the map and reports the device’s estimated accuracy. Review the selected point before saving; standing near an asset does not locate every corner of it.

  4. Troubleshoot blank imagery

Refresh FieldForge to load the current map renderer, check your internet connection, and try the Street layer. If Street works but Satellite does not, report the satellite problem. If neither loads, retry on another connection.

Before you rely on the result

Satellite imagery may be older than the current conditions and is not a surveyed boundary. Equipment pins come from GPS-tagged fuel logs and may be out of date. Pasture pins mark locations, not field outlines.
