Understand offline buffering and sync

Know which work is buffered and how to confirm it reached the server.

Getting started · Updated

  1. Prepare while connected

Sign in and open the tools you need before going into the field. Satellite imagery, AI scans, and membership checks need a connection.

  2. Watch pending work

Supported records may enter an offline queue. Tractor GPS shows Buffered points for route samples that have not yet synced. Starting and completing a session still require successful server saves.

  3. Reconnect without clearing local data

Restore your connection and keep FieldForge open. GPS points try to sync when the browser comes online. Wait for the buffered count to clear before assuming the upload is complete.

  4. Confirm the saved result

Reopen the record or saved track after syncing. If Finish & Save fails, restore the connection and retry. Keep the current page and its buffered data available while resolving the problem.

Before you rely on the result

Clearing browser storage or uninstalling the app can remove unsynced local work. Farm Map coordinate edits require a connection so the saved position can be confirmed.
